A Note from the Author: The Swarm Is Being Reimagined
The Swarm was originally published under the series title The Nanobots of Greenvale. I'm now undertaking an extensive revision and expansion of the entire series, beginning with Book One, newly titled The Greenvale Cure.
These are not simply cosmetic updates or a fresh round of proofreading.
As one of my earliest major writing projects, the original series reflects both the enthusiasm of a beginning novelist and the challenges that come with learning the craft. Years of writing, publishing, and developing my interconnected fictional universe have given me the opportunity to revisit Greenvale with greater experience and a clearer understanding of the story I want to tell.
The revision includes substantial rewriting, improved characterization and dialogue, refined pacing and descriptions, professional editing, and corrections to continuity and worldbuilding.
I'm also aligning the series more closely with the established history, technology, characters, and underlying rules of my larger metaverse, including connections to Becoming Legend and The Azure Heroes.
One especially important structural change concerns the original second novel. Its story encompasses two major narrative arcs that deserve room to develop independently. Rather than forcing them into a single oversized book, I'm dividing that material into two separate novels, allowing each portion of the story to receive the attention and development it deserves.
My goal is to preserve the characters, imagination, humor, and heart of the original Greenvale stories while bringing the entire series up to the standards I've developed as an author.
For returning readers, the revised books will offer a familiar world with substantial improvements, new depth, and stronger connections to the metaverse.
For new readers, The Greenvale Cure will provide the intended starting point for discovering The Swarm.
The world of Greenvale is changing again. This time, so are the books themselves.
