The Color of Love has an unusual origin.
The poem first took shape within E.W. Jenner's interconnected science-fantasy universe, where it forms part of the fictional world's literary and cultural traditions.
In Keeper of Secrets, Book Three of The Azure Heroes, Penny and Lionel discover a children's book in the great Atheneum library. That fictional book is now being brought into the real world, allowing readers to hold and enjoy the same story that exists within the larger metaverse.
Its eight expressions of love draw inspiration from ancient Greek concepts, reimagined through the Valerian language and traditions of the fictional world of Castlianova.
No knowledge of The Azure Heroes is necessary to enjoy this story. The Color of Love stands on its own as a celebration of love, family, friendship, and belonging.
